Syringa vulgaris ‘Olja’ (Olja lilac) – a medium-sized shrub reaching up to 2–2.5 m in height and about 1.5 m in width, with a spreading habit and dense crown. Leaves are dark green, matte, heart-shaped with a pointed tip. Flowers are large, pink-lilac in color with a light center, up to 3.3 cm in diameter; arranged in slightly drooping conical inflorescences 19–25 cm long. Buds are silver-pink, and the aroma is strong and pleasant.

Blooming starts early – from mid-May (May 8–12) and continues into June, peaking from May 15 to 25. At this time, the inflorescences are fully open, giving the shrub a bright decorative appearance. After flowering, petals twist asymmetrically.

The variety is drought-resistant and frost-hardy, easy to care for. It prefers well-drained, fertile soils rich in humus; it does not tolerate excessive moisture or high acidity. To maintain its decorative form, regular pruning is recommended – early spring and after flowering, removing faded inflorescences.

Syringa vulgaris ‘Olja’ is perfect for living fences, mixed borders, or urban greening thanks to its stable growth and vibrant blooms. With proper care, the plant shows abundant flowering and maintains an attractive appearance throughout the season.
