Description
The "Bugovskaya" mustard variety belongs to white mustard (Sinapis alba L.) and is intended for growing in oilseed, fodder, and nectariferous crops. It is characterized by a diploid genotype, medium-length and medium-width cotyledons, and leaves with moderate green coloration and medium-toothed edges. Plants reach a height from low to medium during flowering, while the overall plant length remains medium. Petals of yellow color vary from light to medium intensity, and the beakless pod has medium length and width with a moderate number of seeds inside.
"Bugovskaya" is distinguished by good generative activity when sown late in summer, which ensures a stable yield. Seed yield is about 21–23 c/ha, and the mass of 1000 seeds is from 5.5 to 6.2 g. Fat content in seeds ranges from 30–34%, protein – 28–34%. The erucic acid level is also high (≈30%). Green mass yield reaches 199–216 c/ha, and dry matter – 25–39 c/ha. The vegetative period ranges from 78 to 92 days.
The variety is moderately resistant to damage from cruciferous flea beetles and rape blossom weevil, has medium resistance to lodging, and strong resistance to shattering at the root. Due to these characteristics, "Bugovskaya" is an excellent choice for supporting crops in mixed sowings with annual legumes, and also suitable as a fodder and cover crop in main and intermediate sowings.
