For an agronomist, selecting the Kozachka variety, developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops (NAAS), is a strategic choice for consistency. In terms of field operations, this variety behaves like a robust, professional-grade crop. It requires no specialized harvesting equipment; standard grain headers are perfectly sufficient, making maintenance and harvest logistics straightforward.

Operational Performance

• Sowing: The variety responds well to timely sowing. Early planting allows the crop to maximize the use of winter soil moisture, which is the defining factor for yield in our climate zone.
• Weed Competition: One of its standout features is aggressive early-stage growth, which effectively suppresses weeds. This allows for a significant reduction in herbicide usage, lowering the total cost of production per hectare.
• Harvesting: Its high resistance to shattering provides a vital 5–7 day buffer for scheduling machinery. If weather conditions turn unfavorable, we aren't forced into an emergency harvest, as the seeds remain securely in the pods.
