The 'Bohynia' radish variety is a product of long-term development by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS of Ukraine. Unlike ultra-early hybrids designed exclusively for rapid greenhouse rotation, this variety provides a balanced solution for open-field cultivation and film shelters, where the plant's ability to withstand temperature fluctuations is critical.

Morphology and Development

• Root: circular shape with an intense magenta-red skin. The smooth surface reduces damage during harvest and post-harvest handling.
• Internal structure: crisp, snow-white flesh that is not prone to rapid lignification (pithiness) or internal cavity formation.
• Vegetation cycle: mid-early maturity, allowing the plant to develop high-quality roots without early bolting during longer daylight periods.

Agronomic Performance

The key value of 'Bohynia' lies in its high plasticity. Field trials confirm stable yields across various soil conditions. The variety is resistant to cracking caused by sharp fluctuations in soil moisture, which is a common failure point for many foreign hybrids.
