The Guangzhou pin nematode (Paratylenchus guangzhouensis) is a microscopic ectoparasitic nematode belonging to the order Tylenchida and the family Paratylenchidae. It is a soil-borne plant pathogen that primarily targets the root systems of various agricultural crops, causing significant stress and yield losses.
This species is known to infest a variety of host plants, including vegetable crops and various ornamental species. It survives and thrives in diverse soil environments, with its population density often correlating with the availability of preferred root exudates, which act as stimulants for the nematode's feeding and reproductive processes.
