The native habitat of Lygodium venustum is found in the tropical and subtropical zones of Central and South America. In its natural environment, it thrives in humid conditions along forest edges and thickets. Because it is highly sensitive to frost, its cultivation is restricted to protected environments such as botanical gardens, greenhouses, or regions with consistently warm weather.

Common pests include aphids, scale insects, and spider mites, which can be managed through improved ventilation and chemical control when necessary.
