Ariadna

This variety was obtained by crossing Leningradskaya Krasnaya with Zolotaya Lošitskaya. Originator — All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Plants named after I.V. Michurin. Authors: B.L. Nikitin, G.G. Nikiforova, I.N. Zolotukhina, L.A. Deyneka. Approved for cultivation in 2001 for the Central Chernozem region.

The tree is strong-growing, with a pyramidal crown of medium density and a sparse-tiered branching pattern. Shoots are medium-length, straight, brownish-brown. Buds are few, medium-sized, yellow. Buds are large, slightly curved. Leaves are large, elongated, long-pointed, smooth, green. Leaf blade is flat, lacks pubescence. Leaf margin is finely toothed. Petioles are medium-sized, pigmented. Stipules are medium-sized, dark red. Flowers are large, white. Fruit set occurs on flower clusters and on last year's growth.

Fruits are medium-sized, one-dimensional, weighing 4.6 g, up to a maximum of 5.5 g. Shape is flat-round. Apex is indented. Color is dark red. Number of lenticels is medium. Skin is medium-thick. Flesh is red, juicy, slightly fibrous. Juice is colored. Taste is sweet, 5 points. Dry matter content — 17.45%, sugars — 14.25%, acids — 0.7%, P-active catechins — 330 mg/100g, ascorbic acid — 10.75 mg/100g. Transportability is good. Peduncle is long, medium-thickness. Stone is medium-sized, separates easily from flesh. Variety is of universal use.

Advantages: high winter hardiness, early ripening, high annual yield of large fruits of high taste quality.
