Description
This variety was obtained by artificial crossing of Zhukovskaya x Zolushka. Originator — All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Selection. Authors: A.F. Kolesnikova, G.B. Zhdanova, M.V. Mikhayeva. Included in the State Register for the Central Region in 2004.
Tree is low-growing, 2-2.5 m tall. Crown is spherical, raised, medium density. Shoots are medium, straight, brownish-brown, bare. Buds are few, medium size, yellow. Bud is oval, medium, strongly deviated from the shoot. Leaf is reverse-oval in shape, green. Apex is bluntly pointed, base is rounded, leaf margin is toothed-serrated. Leaf surface is matte, slightly wrinkled, curved downward. Stipules 1-2, located at leaf base. Petiole 16 mm long, thin, pigmented. Number of flowers in inflorescence 4. Corolla diameter 21.6 mm, saucer-shaped, open. Petals white, touching. Stigma is positioned higher relative to anthers. Stigma length 6.8 mm, anther length 7.5 mm. Calyx shape bell-shaped, strong serration of sepals. Fruits borne on cluster branches and one-year shoots.
Fruits weigh 3.4–4.2 g, oval in shape, height 21 mm, width 14 mm, thickness 12 mm. Fruit cavity is medium, apex rounded. Fruits are dark red. Flesh is dark red, medium density, juicy, juice dark red. Pedicel length 26 mm, medium thickness. Stone is oval, 0.2 g weight, which is 5.5% of fruit weight, yellow, apex rounded, base rounded, separates well from flesh.
Fruits have attractive appearance, rated 4.5 points, flesh tender, tart-sweet, good taste. Sensory evaluation of fresh fruits 4.3 points. Fruits contain 12.8% dry matter, 9.9% sugars, 1.3% acids.
Flowering in medium term (May 15–18). Ripening in medium term (July 8–15). Enters fruiting at 4 years. Partially self-fertile. Average yield 83.2 c/ha, maximum 99.9 c/ha. Good fruit detachment from pedicel. Winter hardiness of tree is medium, flower buds — high. Affected by coccomyces at medium severity, moniliosis — severe.
Universal purpose variety. Suitable for commercial, amateur cultivation, as well as breeding (moderate tree growth, high fruit flavor quality).
Advantages: good yield, high fruit flavor quality.
Disadvantages: susceptibility to moniliosis, relatively resistant to coccomyces.
