Description
The variety was obtained from open pollination of the 'Ural Ruby' variety. Originator — Sverdlovsk Selection Station for Gardening. Authors: N.I. Gvozdikova, M.G. Isakova. Under state variety testing since 1990.
The bush is low-growing, up to 1.0–1.2 m, with a spreading, drooping, medium-dense crown. The trunk bark is brown and smooth. Shoots grow outward, straight, sometimes slightly curved, gray. The number of buds is average. The bud is conical and deviated from the shoot. The leaf is inversely egg-shaped, dark green. The apex is pointed, the base is narrow-angled, doubly serrated. The leaf is slightly concave and elastic. The leaf blade surface is glossy and wavy. The petiole is 10 mm long, light green, with weak pigmentation. The glands are yellow-green, small. The number of flowers in the inflorescence — 3. The corolla diameter is 22 mm. The petals are white and elliptical. The number of stamens — 24–31. The stigma length is 10 mm, the anther length is 5 mm. The sepals are wedge-shaped. Fruits are borne on bouquet branches and annual growth.
Fruits weigh 3–4 g, round, slightly compressed on the side of the seam, red. The pedicel length is 29 mm. The stone is oval, weighing 0.24 g, which is 8% of the fruit weight, brown. The fruits have an attractive appearance, rated 4 points. The flesh is sweet-sour, with a satisfactory taste. The tasting score of fresh fruits is 3.6 points. Detachment from the pedicel is dry. The variety is technical. The fruits contain 12.6% soluble solids, 7.8% sugars, 1.43% acids, 14.3 mg/100g ascorbic acid, and 346 mg/100g vitamin P.
Flowering is late — May 30 to June 8. Ripening is late — second decade of August, asynchronous. It enters fruiting on the 4th year. The wood and buds have high winter hardiness. The flowers are resistant to spring frosts due to late flowering, making the variety more frost-resistant. Drought-tolerant. Susceptible to coccomycosis and moniliosis. Resistant to pests. Fruit production, due to self-fertility, is annual and good. Recommended for commercial, amateur cultivation, and as a selection resource (low-growing, late flowering, self-fertility). Suitable for intensive orchards.
Advantages of the variety: low-growing (up to 1.2 m), winter hardiness, self-fertility, late flowering, good annual fruiting.
Disadvantages: satisfactory fruit taste, susceptibility to coccomycosis and moniliosis.
