Description
Origin of the variety — a seedling of early Moreli, resulting from open pollination. Originator — Tatarian Research Institute of Horticulture. Authors: A.M. Tveritinin, L.A. Sevastyanova. Introduced into the State Register in 1998 for the Volga Region.
Tree is weakly vigorous; crown is wide-rounded, dense, with strong leafiness; leaves are inversely egg-shaped, narrowly inversely egg-shaped, green, without anthocyanin; apex is pointed, base is acute, leaf margin is doubly serrated, leaf surface is matte, slightly glossy, flat; petiole is medium, thin, with weak anthocyanin at the base; number of flowers per inflorescence is average (4-6), small, petals touch each other, white. Flowering and fruiting type is mixed.
Fruit: mass 3.0 g, height 11 mm, width 18 mm, thickness 16 mm, shape wide-rounded, pit is small, apex is rounded; color is cherry-red, dark red, flesh color is dark red, juice color is dark red, flesh density is medium; pedicel is short (35 mm), thin; stone is wide-oval, mass 0.2 g, small, 6.7% of fruit mass, light-brown, apex is oval, base is wide-oval, detachment from flesh is good.
Fruit appearance is satisfactory; flesh juiciness is strong; flavor is good, slightly sour-sweet. Dry matter content — 14.33%, sugars — 9.14%, free acids — 1.63%; ascorbic acid content — 16.55 mg/100g. At detachment from the pedicel, the pit area is partially damaged in 25% of fruits. Not suitable for mechanized harvesting. Weak resistance to fruit cracking. Fruits are of universal use.
Flowering period — 1st-2nd decade of May; fruit ripening is early-medium, uniform, age of fruiting is medium (on 3rd-4th year after planting); tree longevity is 18-20 years; partially self-fertile. Yield — 3.8 tons/ha. Tree and branches are resistant to winter frosts; generative buds and flowers are moderately resistant to winter frosts; to physiological diseases — gummosis — variety is resistant; to cherry fruit moth — moderately resistant. Suitable for both amateur and commercial cultivation, appropriate for intensive orchards.
Advantages of the variety: winter hardiness, weak growth, good rooting ability of green cuttings.
