Description
Medium-ripening variety, obtained at the Institute of Pomology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus by crossing the varieties Paulinka and Pilot Alexander Mamkin. Authors: N.A. Zazulina, A.G. Voluznev, A.V. Panteev. Under state variety testing since 2002.
Strong-growing, weakly spreading bush. Growing shoots are medium and slender, light green, moderately colored with anthocyanins in the lower part, hairy, woody dark brown, shiny, thick, with brownish spots in the upper part. Buds are medium-sized, egg-shaped, green, with anthocyanin coloring, pointed apex, pressed against the shoots, terminal free, green, middle. Leaf scars are rounded-triangular in shape.
Leaves are large, dark green, shiny, smooth or slightly wrinkled, with very sharp leaf tips, leathery. Central lobe is sharp, long, concave along the central vein. Lateral lobes are pointed, angle between veins of lateral lobes is acute. Upper sides of lateral lobes are positioned at a right angle to the central vein, lower sides are angled.
Basal lobes are weakly expressed, blunt, veins are spread out. Notches between lobes are blunt, shallow. Base of leaf has an open, deep notch. Teeth are medium-sized, with clearly defined “claw”. Petiole is medium length, green.
Flowers are large, reddish. Panicles are long, medium density.
Berries are large (1.4 g), black, round, with dense skin and dry detachment, tart-sweet (4.5 points), pleasant taste, universal use. Calyx is round, closed, small, pedicel is medium length. Chemical composition: dry soluble substances — 16.2%, total sugars — 7.6%, titratable acidity — 2.0%, ascorbic acid — 213.2 mg/100 g, pectic substances (on fresh weight) — 1.2%.
Winter-hardy, high-yielding (13.7 t/ha), characterized by high self-fertility, no berry drop, moderately affected by American powdery mildew and leaf spot diseases.
Advantages of the variety: high taste quality.
Disadvantages of the variety: susceptibility to fungal diseases.
