Description
Early-maturing variety, developed at Yakutsk NIIHS by crossing the variety 'Altayskaya Buraya' with the form (Sambucus racemosa × Chitinskaya). Authors: M.A. Chertkova, L.P. Gotovtseva. Included in the State Register of Varieties Approved for Use in the East Siberian Region in 1999.
Medium-height, loosely spreading, moderately dense bush. Woody stems of medium thickness, hairless, yellowish-brown. Buds of medium size, solitary, spindle-shaped, pressed, light-brown with a pinkish tint, hairy. Leaf scar shape is rounded-triangular.
Five-lobed leaf, medium-sized, green, slightly glossy, smooth, blade convex, leaf margin toothed. Lobes pointed, central lobe narrowly triangular, significantly longer than lateral ones, angle between lateral lobe veins obtuse. Basal lobes poorly expressed, spread out. Leaf base triangular, notch of medium depth and width, open. Teeth medium-sized. Petiole long, medium width, hairy, colored with anthocyanin at base, positioned at 45° angle to the stem.
Flowers medium-sized, broad, sepals pink, arranged loosely. Inflorescences short, dense, stem thickness and hairiness medium.
Berries large (1.6 g), oval-round, black with brownish tint, medium skin density, dry detachment, medium seed count, tart-sweet flavor, versatile use. Receptacle large, does not fall off, closed, pedicel short, light-green, slightly hairy, thin. Chemical composition: soluble dry matter 14.4–16.9%, total sugars — 5.4–6.3%, titratable acidity — 3.8–3.9%, ascorbic acid — 181.6–258.6 mg/100 g.
Winter-hardy variety, moderate drought resistance, medium resistance to diseases and pests, medium-yielding (average 4.0 t/ha, maximum — 8.2 t/ha).
Advantages of the variety: winter hardiness, high ascorbic acid content.
Disadvantages of the variety: overripe berries tend to drop.
