Description
Black currant of the Shaman variety is a medium-late large-fruited variety, distinguished by high yield and low maintenance requirements. Bushes are medium-sized, weak-growing, with upright or weakly arching shoots, which facilitates processing and plant care. The variety is early-yielding and has self-fertility of about 62%, contributing to stable and abundant fruiting. Berries have a matte surface, large size — from 4 to 8 grams, with tender flesh and a sweet-sour refreshing taste, which makes them universal for fresh consumption and all types of processing.
Berry ripening period is medium, with an extended fruiting period, allowing to enjoy the harvest for a long time. Shaman currant is characterized by high resistance to diseases, especially powdery mildew, and septoria affects bushes weakly, reducing the need for frequent application of protective agents. Berry transportability is excellent, making the variety attractive both for amateurs and professional gardeners.
Yield of the variety is from 4 to 5 kilograms per bush, which is a good indicator for medium-late currant varieties. Due to the combination of high productivity, disease resistance, and excellent taste qualities, black currant Shaman is an excellent choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions and is suitable for diverse purposes — from home consumption to commercial cultivation.
