Description
Blackcurrant variety Yuterborgskaia is a West European medium-season variety with high yield and good taste qualities. Bushes are of medium size, spreading and dense, with a hemispherical shape. Shoots are characterized by a non-bright anthocyanin coloration in the upper part and the presence of long glandular hairs. Leaves are large, dense, dark green with a characteristic shape and sparse pubescence. Flowers are saucer-shaped with greenish sepals, and medium-length racemes contain 8 to 20 berries. Berries are large, light cream-colored, round or slightly flattened, with a pleasant moderately sour taste and a mass of about 0.6-1 g. They are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing, having a high content of dry matter, sugars, ascorbic acid, and pectin substances. The Yuterborgskaia variety is characterized by high yield - up to 7-8 kg per bush, medium self-fertility, and medium winter hardiness. It is resistant to anthracnose and septoria at a medium level, but is susceptible to damage from blackcurrant bud moth, gooseberry sawfly, and red-gall aphid. Berries do not fall off for a long time and retain their taste after ripening. Bushes are recommended for cultivation on sunny or semi-shaded areas with fertile and moderately moist soil. To ensure good plant development, regular watering, sanitary pruning, and tying of bushes is necessary. Yuterborgskaia is a variety with decorative qualities and a well-developed root system, which promotes its adaptation and resistance. Berry ripening dates fall in late June - early July, which allows for their use in fresh form, as well as for making jams, preserves, juices, and desserts. Thanks to its characteristics, the variety is popular among gardeners who appreciate the combination of yield, taste, and decorativeness.
