Synergy of two components against resilient weeds

"Dublon Super" is a highly effective combination of two active ingredients: nicosulfuron (700 g/kg) and dicamba (150 g/kg). This combination classifies the product as a selective systemic herbicide, targeting both grass and broad-leaved weeds simultaneously.

Mechanism of action and formulation architecture

• Nicosulfuron acts as a potent inhibitor of the acetolactate synthase enzyme, blocking cell division in meristems. This leads to a rapid cessation of growth in sensitive species such as couch grass or barnyard grass.
• Dicamba affects weeds as an auxin-like growth regulator, causing metabolic disorders and tissue deformation in broad-leaved species: ragweed, amaranth, lambsquarters, and field bindweed.

Combining these substances in the form of water-dispersible granules ensures rapid solubility in the sprayer tank and high stability of the working solution. The systemic activity allows the components to quickly penetrate the leaf blade and translocate throughout the weed's vascular system, including the root system, which is crucial for controlling perennials.

Agrotechnical recommendations

The product is a post-emergence herbicide. Foliar application is carried out during the active growth phase of the crop (maize), maintaining a consumption rate of 0.3–0.5 kg/ha. The limitation of one application per season is dictated by the need to prevent resistance and adhere to toxicological load regulations (hazard class 3).

When applying, it is essential to consider the crop's developmental stages: the optimal spraying window is from the 2 to 6-leaf stage of maize. During this period, weeds are most vulnerable, while the impact of the herbicide on the crop's metabolism remains within acceptable selective limits.
