Description
Fabian® is formulated in a modern progressive water-dispersible granule form. It contains two active ingredients—imazethapyr (450 g/kg), belonging to the imidazolinone class, and chlorimuron-ethyl (150 g/kg), belonging to the sulfonylurea class. Both components belong to the group of acetolactate synthase inhibitors—enzymes responsible for the synthesis of essential amino acids. The herbicide suppresses protein synthesis processes, leading to disruption of cell division and growth in weed meristems.
Fabian® stops weed growth within several hours after application. Therefore, weeds almost immediately stop competing with soybean plants after herbicide application. During the period of active weed growth (under warm, humid conditions), visible signs of herbicide action—complete growth cessation, yellowing, and whitening (chlorosis) of leaves—appear 5–7 days after application; under slower growth (due to low temperatures or drought)—later. Complete weed death, depending on weather conditions, occurs within 3–4 weeks.
Depending on soil-climatic conditions, field weediness level, weed species composition, and weed developmental stage at the time of spraying, Fabian® provides protection for soybean crops against weeds for 60–90 days after application.
Soybean crops can be sprayed with Fabian® once per season regardless of crop developmental stage. The main factor determining the timing of application is the weed developmental stage. Spraying is recommended during early weed growth stages (up to 2–3 leaves in grasses and up to 4–6 leaves in broadleaves). The herbicide dosage is 100 g/ha. In cases of overgrown grassy weeds, a tank mix of Fabian® (100 g/ha) and Miura® (0.3–0.4 L/ha) can be used.
