The systemic herbicide "Legion" is a comprehensive solution for managing weed infestation in field crops. The formulation relies on two active ingredients: Clethodim (a lipid synthesis inhibitor targeting grass weeds) and Clopyralid (a growth regulator that blocks the development of broadleaf weeds, particularly the Asteraceae family). This combination functions as a selective "scalpel" for agronomists, allowing for post-emergence application on growing crops without the risk of phytotoxicity.

Technical Analysis of Components and Mechanism of Action

• Clethodim: Penetrates the leaf surface and rapidly translocates to the meristematic tissues, blocking cell division. It is highly effective against perennial grasses such as couch grass and Bermuda grass.
• Clopyralid: Mimics natural growth hormones (auxins), causing abnormal metabolism in the tissues of Canada thistle and common lambsquarters. The weed loses its ability to develop, curls, and dies.

The water-dispersible granule formulation ensures excellent wettability and stability of the spray solution. With a dosage rate of up to 0.5 L/ha, "Legion" delivers a high concentration of active ingredients, which is critical when targeting weeds during their phase of active growth.

Practical Application Aspects

Classified as a Hazard Class 3 product, this herbicide requires strict adherence to application protocols. Since it is a foliar-applied product, sufficient leaf surface area on the weeds is essential for proper absorption. It is suitable for a wide range of crops, including cereals (winter wheat, winter barley), oilseeds (sunflower, rapeseed), and row crops (fodder beet). The short pre-harvest interval (only 1 day) minimizes risks during harvesting and allows for flexible management of operational timelines.
