A powerful triple-action post-emergence herbicide for selective weed control in beet crops.
Description
Triple-Action Weed Control Technology
The efficacy of PowerTwin SC in beet cultivation is built on a synergistic blend of three active ingredients: desmedipham, phenmedipham, and ethofumesate. The carbamate group (phenmedipham and desmedipham) provides rapid knockdown activity, interfering with the photosynthetic process of target broadleaf weeds upon contact. The inclusion of ethofumesate (a benzofuran derivative) is the key technical advantage: it provides essential soil activity, which prevents subsequent flushes of weeds and enhances the long-term protective effect.
Practical Engineering and Performance
The systemic selectivity of this product ensures that fodder and red beets can metabolize the active compounds without suffering phytotoxic stress. The suspension concentrate formulation is engineered for optimal adherence to the leaf surface, ensuring that even under varying environmental conditions, the herbicide penetrates effectively. This is critical for controlling aggressive weeds like lambsquarters, pigweed, mustard, and ragweed during their most vulnerable growth stages.
Application Guidelines
- Mode of Action: Selective, systemic, post-emergence foliar herbicide.
- Treatment Frequency: Up to 3 applications per season, allowing for flexible management of weed pressure.
- Dosage: 1–1.5 liters per hectare depending on weed composition and growth stage.
- Harvest Interval: 56 days pre-harvest interval, ensuring safety and compliance.
Developed through the collaboration of ADAMA Deutschland GmbH and Bayer CropScience AG, the formulation allows for precise control of difficult species such as common chickweed and shepherd's purse. By targeting the weed's competitive advantage early on, the product ensures the crop reaches its full yield potential without nutrient or water competition from invasive flora.

Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |

Based on the method of application, herbicides are divided into foliar, soil, and root herbicides. Foliar herbicides are applied to vegetative plants and act through their above-ground organs. The main method of application for such preparations is spraying using sprayers or airp... |

Herbicides are classified according to application timing into pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides. Pre-emergent herbicides are mostly soil-applied or granular formulations applied before the emergence of crop plants. They are applied either pre-sowing (during pre-sowing cu... |
