Pulsagro by Shandong Weifang Rainbow is a systemic herbicide engineered for sunflower crops, utilizing the synergistic power of Imazamox and Imazapyr. By combining these two imidazolinone active ingredients, the product provides both post-emergence knockdown and residual soil activity, which is vital for managing multiple flushes of weeds in a single growing season.

Physiological Mechanism

The formulation acts by inhibiting the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme. This critical enzyme is responsible for the biosynthesis of essential amino acids (valine, leucine, and isoleucine). Upon application, the herbicide halts cellular division, leading to the rapid cessation of weed growth. The systemic nature ensures the active ingredients are translocated through the plant tissues, affecting both the foliage and the root system.

Target Weed Spectrum

Pulsagro is formulated to control a broad spectrum of problematic weeds, including:

• Common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), Redroot pigweed, Common lambsquarters;
• Field bindweed and Canada thistle (perennial control);
• Field mustard, Shepherd's purse, Cleavers.

Application Strategy

As a soluble concentrate, Pulsagro is optimized for rapid absorption through the leaf surface. The recommended application rate is 1–1.2 l/ha, with a maximum of one treatment per season. Because it is a selective herbicide, timing is crucial; it must be applied at the correct growth stage of the sunflower to ensure crop safety while maximizing the control of competing weed species. Its residual efficacy in the soil provides a distinct advantage, preventing secondary germination of susceptible weeds.
