"Varyag" is a two-component systemic herbicide of Ukrainian origin, developed by the "Fabryka Ahrokhimikativ" (Cherkasy), designed to address the critical need for pre-emergence control across a wide range of agricultural crops.

The combination of active ingredients—terbuthylazine and metolachlor—allows for a complex suppression strategy. Metolachlor inhibits cell division, preventing the germination of grass weeds, while terbuthylazine disrupts photosynthesis in broad-leaved species. Due to its systemic action, the product creates a "protective screen" in the topsoil layer that lasts for 8–10 weeks, ensuring a clean start for the crop without the need for early mechanical tillage.
