The white mustard variety «Lucia» is a highly efficient agricultural product, characterized by its early maturity and large seed size. The vegetative period lasts 96 days, and the 1000-seed mass ranges from 7.01 to 7.12 g, ensuring high yields – from 1.50 to 1.74 tons/hectare of seeds and about 250 centners/hectare of green mass.
Fertile «Lucia» plants reach a height of approximately 112 cm. Flowering occurs very early, and leaves retain a rich green color with a moderate number of lobes. The culture is distinguished by its resistance to lodging and drought, as well as low susceptibility to flea beetles; diseases practically do not affect the plant.
Fat content in seeds is 20.5–20.7%, while erucic acid in oil is within the range of 23.6–24.2% and allyl oil is 0.59–0.68%. These indicators make «Lucia» suitable for both technical oil production and use as a cover crop. The culture is easily mechanized for harvesting, which increases its economic attractiveness for farmers.
