Description
Medium-ripening variety, developed at the Southern Ural Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Growing by crossing the varieties Bredtorp and Seyanets Golubki. Author: V.S. Il'in. Under state variety testing since 1995.
Medium-height, dense, moderately spreading bush. Growing shoots of medium thickness, light green, slightly curved, hairless, tips slightly tinged with pink. Buds of medium size, brown, solitary, positioned at an angle to the shoot, leaf scar shape rounded-triangular.
Five-lobed leaf, large, dark green, light green at shoot tips, shiny, leathery, moderately wrinkled, blade concave along central veins. Lobes acute, deeply notched, middle lobe slightly larger than lateral ones, acute, egg-shaped, with additional protrusions. Lateral lobes of medium length and width, acute, pointing upward to the sides, angle between their central veins acute or straight. Basal lobes well developed. Base of leaf with deep triangular notch, angle between blade base and petiole acute. Teeth long, acute, not curled. Petiole long, medium thickness, hairless, anthocyanin-colored on sunlit side or light green, positioned at 45° angle to the shoot.
Flowers medium-sized, pale pink, whitish, cup-shaped, sepals of medium length, broad, free, curled, partially colored pale yellow-green or light pink. Inflorescences of medium length (4-6 cm), mostly single, medium density, axis medium or even thick, slightly hairy, winding, with pinkish tint. Petiole thin, medium length, pale pink coloration, slightly hairy.
Berries very large (2.0-6.0 g), round, relatively uniform, nearly black, medium seed count, tart-sweet flavor (4.9 points), pleasant, with distinct sweetness, versatile use. Receptacle open, pedicel medium length, thin. Chemical composition: total sugars — 5.2%, titratable acidity — 3.4%, ascorbic acid — 90.0 mg/100 g, P-active substances — 950.0 mg/100 g.
Winter-hardy variety, self-fertile (64.3%), high-yielding, average yield 7.7 t/ha, maximum — 13.9 t/ha (2.0-4.1 kg/plant), resistant to powdery mildew and anthracnose.
Advantages of the variety: high winter hardiness and yield, very large berry size, dessert-like flavor, resistance to powdery mildew.
Disadvantages of the variety: medium susceptibility to septoria and bud mite.
