Description
Blackcurrant variety "Debut" is a modern Ukrainian late-ripening variety, characterized by high yield and stable fruiting. The bushes are medium-sized, semi-spreading, with striking long, medium-density clusters. Berries are large, uniform, averaging 1.9 g, with individual fruits reaching up to 3 g, do not drop off, and have a classic tart-sweet flavor with a refreshing aroma. The variety is distinguished by high transportability and storability, making it convenient for commercial cultivation and marketing.
The "Debut" variety bushes are relatively compact, with thin, straight, and matte stems, and light green, small leaves. The plant is resistant to low temperatures, drought, and possesses comprehensive resistance to major fungal diseases and pests. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia, and can be successfully grown in both conventional and organic farms.
Blackcurrant "Debut" is one of the richest sources of vitamin C — up to 570 mg per 100 grams of berries, which is ten times more than in lemon. In addition to berries, the leaves of blackcurrant are also valuable, containing even more vitamin C, as well as essential oils, flavonoids, and trace elements such as magnesium, manganese, and copper. Tea made from blackcurrant leaves strengthens immunity and is effective against colds. Berries and leaves of the "Debut" variety are widely used both fresh and for preservation, retaining vitamins and aroma of the products.
