Description
Early-ripening variety, obtained at the branch of VIR "Polar Experimental Station" from crossing the variety Podarok Zapolyarye and form R.nigrum. ssp. eigoraeit. Authors: S.D. Elsakova, T.V. Romanova. Included in the State Register of Varieties Approved for Use in the Northern Region in 2007.
Medium-height, loosely branched, dense bush. Growing shoots are thick, straight, green, hairless. Buds are large, egg-shaped, hairless, sit on short stems.
Leaf three- to five-lobed, large, green, with small notches. Leaf blade is bare, shiny, leathery, smooth, convex. Lobes are sharp, central lobe longer than lateral ones, angle between their midribs obtuse. Basal lobes are not pronounced. Leaf base is heart-shaped with a moderate depth notch. Teeth are long and obtuse. Petiole is long, thin, hairless.
Flowers are large, pink. Ovule is round, bare, hairless. Inflorescence is short, dense, axis thick and straight.
Berries are large (1.2-1.6 g), round, black, shiny, skin thin, dessert flavor (4.8 points), aromatic, general purpose. Calyx is closed, very small. Chemical composition: total sugars — 5.6%, organic acids — 3.5%, ascorbic acid — 192.0 mg/100 g.
Cold-resistant, self-fertile (up to 70%), average yield 11.5 t/ha (3.5 kg/plant), resistant to sawfly and anthracnose.
Advantages of the variety: early ripening, large berries, good taste.
Disadvantages of the variety: not resistant to powdery mildew, berries drop off when fully ripe.
