Description
Red currant variety Samburskaya is a vigorous bush with high technological efficiency, allowing for both manual and mechanized harvesting. This variety was developed by domestic breeders through crossing the Altai Early and Ronde varieties. Berries ripen in mid-early season, with uniform and stable fruiting, ensuring high yields of 150-200 centners per hectare. Medium-sized clusters are densely distributed on shoots of all ages, promoting even and abundant fruiting.
Berries of Samburskaya currant are large, weighing from 0.9 to 1.5 grams, round in shape with a dense, glossy, bright red skin. The flavor is tart-sweet, very pleasant, rated 4.5-4.75 points, making them popular for both fresh consumption and processing. The fruits have high transportability and marketability, suitable for making compotes, jams, juices, jellies, freezing, and baby food. Berries contain significant amounts of dry matter (about 10.8%), sugar (8.2%), acid (2.2%), and ascorbic acid (58 mg), which confer beneficial properties and strengthen immunity, improving skin and hair condition.
The variety exhibits high resistance to drought, temperature fluctuations, and fungal diseases, reducing maintenance requirements and increasing cultivation reliability. The bushes grow tall, allowing their use not only for berry harvesting but also as living hedges. Due to their characteristics and advantages, Samburskaya currant is an excellent choice for gardeners and farmers seeking a stable and high-quality harvest of red currant.
