Description
Mid-season ripening variety, developed at the Institute of Berry Fruits of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus from crossing the varieties Paulinka and Belorussian Sweet. Breeders: A.G. Voluznev, N.A. Zazulina, G.P. Rainchikova. Since 1996, included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements approved for use in the Northwestern, Volga-Vyatka, and North Caucasus regions of the Russian Federation.
Strong-growing, slightly spreading bush with medium branching. Growing shoots of medium thickness, green, shiny, hairless. Woody shoots gray with dark-brown spots, hairless, thin, tapering towards the tip, with long internodes. Buds of medium size, pinkish, conical, with a pointed apex, arranged parallel to the shoot or slightly deviated. Terminal bud free, small, pointed, asymmetrical, elongated in shape. Bud scales long, tightly pressed, with a small "nose".
Five-lobed leaf, medium size, light green, weakly shiny, slightly wrinkled, blade positioned horizontally. Leaf margin wavy. Lobes acute, central lobe elongated and triangular, slightly differing from lateral lobes in length, with additional protrusions. Lateral lobes acute, with elongated tips. Gaps between lobes acute, angle between veins of lateral lobes straight or acute. Upper sides of lateral lobes positioned at an acute angle to the central vein, lower sides slightly sloped or vertical. Basal lobes well-expressed, veins spread out. Base of leaf with an open, small notch. Petiole colored, hairy. Teeth of medium size, acute, saw-toothed. Leaf scars round or rounded-triangular.
Flowers medium-sized, red. Stamens in the flower at the level of the pistil. Inflorescences medium and short. Berry arrangement in the inflorescence of medium density. Axis of medium thickness.
Berries large (1.2 g), black, shiny, round, with medium-thick skin. Calyx round, closed, small, peduncle of medium length. Flavor sweet, with moderate aroma, pleasant, flesh juicy, taste score 4.8 points. Berries of universal use. Chemical composition: soluble dry substances — 15.0%, total sugars — 8.5%, titratable acidity — 1.8%, ascorbic acid — 187.0 mg/100 g, pectin substances (on fresh weight) — 1.4%.
Winter-hardy variety, high-yielding (12.0 t/ha), self-fertile, no berry drop, moderately affected by American powdery mildew and leaf spot diseases.
Advantages of the variety: high yield, taste qualities.
Disadvantages of the variety: susceptibility to fungal diseases.
