Description
The 'Yaroslavna' blackcurrant variety is a tall, mid-to-late maturing bush with straight, flexible medium-thickness shoots. Its clusters are long and loose, containing 7 to 10 large, round, bright red berries weighing up to 1 gram. The berries have a pleasant sour-sweet flavor with a refreshing aroma, making the variety suitable for fresh consumption as well as processing and freezing. Properly stored at temperatures between -18 to -20 °C, the berries retain their biologically active compounds for more than 9 months.
The 'Yaroslavna' variety is distinguished by high yield — from 200 to 250 centners per hectare. It exhibits high winter hardiness and drought resistance, as well as resistance to diseases such as anthracnose, powdery mildew, and septoria. Thanks to these qualities, the bushes grow large, dense, and healthy, ensuring a stable and abundant harvest.
For planting, it is recommended to follow a scheme of 1.5 meters between plants in a row and 2 meters between rows, with holes about 40 cm deep and wide. Before planting, it is advisable to dip the roots in clay slurry, and fill the holes with cow manure and ammonium nitrate. Seedlings are planted at a 45-degree angle, then thoroughly watered. Adhering to these agronomic recommendations promotes the development of strong and healthy bushes that will delight with high-quality and abundant berries.
