LEKARY

The Lekary garlic variety is a winter-hardy, non-shooting variety known for its early ripening and high yield. The bulbs have an oval-flat shape, weighing between 36 and 42 grams, sometimes reaching up to 52 grams, and consist of 11-16 cloves with a simple structure. The cloves are elongated, up to 3 mm in diameter, with dense flesh and a semi-sharp taste. The color of the outer scales varies from white to light pink and light purple shades. The leaves are light green, about 42.5 cm long and 2.2 cm wide, lightly covered with a waxy bloom, with a leaf count reaching nine. The average bulb density and dry matter content is 41%, which contributes to good storage and quality preservation.

The Lekary variety boasts high winter hardiness and transportability, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including territories of Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, and Belarus. The vegetative period from the mass emergence of cloves to leaf yellowing is 100-108 days, allowing for a harvest by June. Yield reaches 1.13 kg per square meter, and up to 120 kg per centare. Thanks to the absence of shooting, plant care is simplified, saving time and effort for gardeners.

Lekary garlic is widely used in cooking, suitable for canning and processing. For cultivation, planting is done using cloves, air seeds, or single-toothed bulbs, at a planting depth of 4-6 cm and a scheme of 2 on 10 cm. The plant requires timely watering and weeding to ensure optimal growth. Stem height reaches 50-70 cm, which also contributes to good development and formation of quality bulbs. Thanks to its market qualities, early ripening, and high storage capacity, the Lekary variety is an excellent choice for gardeners and farmers.
