Description
LARGE-LEAVED is an early-maturing perennial sorrel, characterized by cold hardiness and rapid foliage regrowth. The period from full germination to the start of mass harvesting is 40‑45 days, while the period from regrowth to technical leaf maturity is only 18‑37 days. The plant forms a dense, slightly raised rosette, which is spreading and elegant, making it convenient for growing in gardens and orchards.
The leaves are large, oval-elongated, light green, smooth with moderate blistering. The leaf blade reaches a length of 15 cm, a width of 7 cm, and the petioles are long and narrow (length 17 cm, width 0.5 cm). Due to this structure, leaves are easily harvested several times a summer, allowing for a yield of up to 7.5 kg/m². Young leaves can be used fresh, boiled, or salted; they are also excellent for freezing and preparing vitamin soups, as well as adding to pie fillings.
The variety is rich in Vitamin C, carotene, B group, and valuable organic acids. Sowing is done in spring (April-May), but winter sowing can be carried out if desired for early production. Due to its high yield and nutritional value, LARGE-LEAVED is an excellent choice for both home gardens and commercial cultivation.
