Activus

Activus is an early-maturing winter wheat variety with a stiff spike, characterized by very early emergence and early maturity. It is distinguished by its compact stature and medium-height plants with good tillering, which contributes to high yield potential. The variety exhibits excellent lodging resistance, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions. Thousand-grain weight ranges from 38.6–47 g, indicating large kernel size and high raw material quality. Activus demonstrates high tolerance to major wheat diseases, including powdery mildew, brown and yellow rust. Additionally, it possesses genetically-based resistance to spring frosts, heat tolerance, and high drought resistance, confirmed by successful cultivation during dry years and record-breaking yields across various regions of Ukraine and abroad. The yield potential of this variety reaches 7–10 t/ha, with some trials recording yields of 90–100 c/ha. Activus is also valued for its excellent baking qualities. Grain protein content ranges from 13.1–13.7%, and crude gluten content from 26.1–28.0%, ensuring superior flour technological properties. Recommended sowing dates are from September 10 to October 5, with seeding rates of 2.5 to 5.5 million seeds per hectare depending on sowing time. Thanks to its adaptive properties and stable productivity, the Activus variety is an optimal choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
