ALTAI REAPER

Wheat of the «Altai Reaper» variety is a soft spring wheat of medium maturity developed by Russian breeders at the Altai Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture. The variety's vegetation period ranges from 76 to 89 days, allowing for efficient cultivation in the Western Siberia region, particularly in the Rubtsovskoe-Aleyskaya steppe zone of the Altai Krai. The variety is characterized by medium height and moderate resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions.

The yield of «Altai Reaper» varies depending on growing conditions and previous crops. Average yield indicators reach 21.4 c/ha in the Western Siberia region, while under optimal conditions and proper agronomy they can reach up to 38.9 c/ha. The variety demonstrates superiority over standards in terms of yield, making it attractive to agricultural producers. Additionally, «Altai Reaper» has excellent baking qualities: the mass of 1000 grains is 41 g, protein content in the grain is 13.5%, and bread volume reaches 1040 ml, corresponding to or exceeding standard indicators.

The variety has moderate resistance to brown rust, but is susceptible to certain diseases such as hard head smut, powdery mildew, root rots, and septoria. Resistance to lodging and shattering is rated highly, which contributes to yield preservation under unfavorable weather conditions. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, «Altai Reaper» is a reliable choice for cultivation in regions with a temperate climate and contributes to the production of quality grain for the baking industry.
