Description
ALTAISKAYA 70 is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), characterized by mid-early or mid-late maturity and a medium-height plant type. The plant is semi-erect, ears are white without awns, and grains are red. The variety is distinguished by good resistance to lodging and grain shedding, which contributes to preserving the yield and improving its quality. The average yield is about 24.7 centners per hectare, while maximum indicators can reach 56.3 centners per hectare.
ALTAISKAYA 70 has good baking qualities, making it in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including West Siberia, East Siberia, and the Far East. It is adapted to the conditions of the Rubtsovsky-Aleysky Steppe of the Altai Krai and shows medium drought resistance.
Despite a number of positive characteristics, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as common bunt, powdery mildew, root rots, and septoria. Moderate or severe susceptibility to brown rust is also noted. Therefore, when cultivating, it is recommended to apply appropriate agrotechnical and protective measures to minimize yield losses and maintain crop health.
