Description
Winter wheat variety Belozerkivska Polukarlikova is an early-maturing variety recommended for cultivation in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions. This variety is distinguished by its high yield potential, ranging from 4.7 to 9.7 tons per hectare, as well as valuable grain quality with protein content from 12.7 to 14.1%. Plant height ranges from 71 to 80 cm, ensuring ease of maintenance and harvest. Sowing rate is 4.5–6.0 million germinating seeds per hectare, and yield increases when used as a predecessor to perennial grasses and peas.
The variety was developed by single backcrossing and recognized as a national standard among polukarlikov varieties in the specified regions. It exhibits high resistance to brown rust, drought, and winter hardiness, making it a reliable choice for challenging climatic conditions. The grain of this variety has high baking quality, expanding its application in the food industry.
Belozerkivska Polukarlikova wheat demonstrates resistance to various diseases and stress factors: high resistance to septoria (8 points), root rot (6 points), fusarium (7 points), brown rust (9 points), and powdery mildew (7 points). The vegetation period is 260–265 days, and winter hardiness is rated as medium-high (3.5 points). These characteristics make the variety reliable and productive for cultivation under frozen conditions and variable climates.
