CORNETTO

The Cornetto wheat variety is a mid-season soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) bred by French breeders SECOBRA Recherches. The vegetative period lasts from 83 to 96 days, allowing the variety to be used in various climatic conditions. Cornetto is distinguished by its high adaptability to dry conditions and resistance to lodging, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in regions with variable climates. Due to the two-handled plant type, the variety can be sown early, it is not afraid of late frosts, which expands the possibilities of agrotechnical use.

The variety is characterized by a high yield, which is achieved due to a large number of grains per ear and high mass of 1000 grains (33-48 g). It has high resistance to powdery mildew and medium resistance to brown rust and septoria, which reduces the risk of crop losses and the need for frequent treatments. To protect crops, seed treatment and fungicide treatments during the growing season are recommended. The sowing rate varies from 430 to 500 pieces per square meter depending on the sowing time and growing conditions.

Cornetto is intended for bread-making use and is classified as valuable wheat of class 2, confirming the high bread-making qualities of the grain. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Black Earth and Far Eastern regions of Russia, as well as the Aktobe, Kostanay, and North Kazakhstan oblasts. Thanks to its characteristics and resistance, Cornetto is a cost-effective choice for farmers focused on obtaining high-quality grain for the milling industry.
