Description
Winter wheat variety Dostatok is a medium-late, high-yielding variety belonging to the erythrospermum type. The plant features a semi-erect bush with a short stem, 92-95 cm tall. The ear is pyramidal in shape, long and medium density, with short awns along its entire length. The grain is large, elongated, red in color, with a shallow groove. The vegetation period is 280-285 days, allowing successful cultivation of this variety in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe zones on soils with optimal mineral nutrition.
Variety Dostatok exhibits high resistance to various diseases and stress factors. It shows high resistance to lodging (8.2-8.5 points), shattering (9 points), root rot (8 points), septoria (9 points), as well as moderate resistance to fusarium (7 points), brown rust (6 points), and powdery mildew (7 points). Thanks to this, the variety tolerates severe winters, hot summers, and dry periods. The grain does not shed from the ear and does not germinate within it, which simplifies harvesting and improves yield quality.
To achieve high yields, the variety is recommended for cultivation using intensive technology with a complex of agronomic practices, including the use of good predecessors and application of mineral fertilizers. The seeding rate is 4.5-5.5 million germinating seeds per hectare, sowing should be conducted in the latter half of the optimal period. To prevent lodging on high mineral nutrition backgrounds, retardants are recommended, along with 2-3 applications of plant protection against diseases and pests, especially after heading, using fungicides. Herbicide treatment of the crop is necessary in early spring or autumn during the initial stages of development.
