EKADA 66

EKADA 66 is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety of the lutescens type, intended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region. The plant is mid-season with a vegetation period of 82-93 days, ripening 2-3 days earlier than the standard Simbircit. The plant has a semi-erect habit, medium height with long straw, which is weakly structured, contributing to lodging resistance. The head is pyramidal, medium density, white color, with a wide rounded shoulder and a short slightly curved tooth. The grain is large, red, with a 1000-grain mass of 34-45 grams. The variety is characterized by a strong waxy coating on the upper internode of the straw and the flag leaf sheath. EKADA 66 is characterized by high yield - the average indicator in the region is about 29.5 ц/ga, which is 3.3 ц/ga higher than the average standard. The maximum yield recorded in the Republic of Tatarstan reached 57.1 ц/ga. The variety is drought-resistant above average, as well as has good resistance to lodging, shattering and grain germination at the root. However, field conditions have noted infection with brown rust and powdery mildew, which requires attention during crop protection. Baking qualities of the variety are at the level of a good filler, which makes it in demand for the milling industry. The EKADA 66 variety was developed with adaptation to the climatic conditions of the central belt of Russia, which ensures a stable high yield and quality grain. Due to its characteristics, it belongs to the semi-intensive type of varieties and is recommended for cultivation in regions with similar agrometeorological conditions. High milling and baking qualities make this variety attractive for agricultural producers focused on the production of quality wheat.
