KWS BURAN

KWS BURAN wheat is a spring soft wheat variety developed by German breeders of KWS SAAT SE. This medium-early variety has a vegetation period ranging from 77 to 86 days and is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 95 centners per hectare. The mass of 1000 grains varies between 34-45 grams, and the plant has a short stem of medium length, which ensures resistance to lodging and favorably affects harvest collection. The ear is cylindrical, of medium density, white in color with a moderately curved lemma and a strong waxy coating on the ear and sheath of the flag leaf.

KWS BURAN exhibits high resistance to various diseases, including powdery mildew and septoria, and is moderately drought-tolerant. The variety is adapted to various climatic conditions and is recommended for cultivation in regions with a temperate climate, such as the Central, Ural, and Western Siberian regions, as well as in several regions of Kazakhstan. The optimal sowing depth is 3-5 cm, and the sowing rate is 4.5-6 million seeds per hectare.

In terms of grain quality, KWS BURAN is distinguished by high milling and baking characteristics. The crude protein content reaches 13.3%, crude gluten content is 28-30%, and the grain natural weight is 785-805 g/l. The grain is pigmented, large, and dense, which ensures a high flour yield and good baking properties at the level of a good filler. The maximum registered yield under favorable conditions reached 67 centners per hectare, confirming the variety's potential for intensive agriculture.
