Description
Mironovska 40 is distinguished by high resistance to major wheat diseases, including powdery mildew, brown rust, leaf septoria, as well as root rots and Fusarium ear rot. The variety exhibits high drought tolerance and resistance to shattering, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The winter hardiness of the variety is above average, allowing successful cultivation in regions with moderately cold winters.
The quality of Mironovska 40 grain is high: the test weight of the grain ranges from 764–780 g/l, crude protein content varies from 13.4 to 16.9%, and crude gluten content reaches up to 32%, corresponding to the first quality group. Dough strength is 177–260 arbitrary units, and bread volume from flour reaches 650–1200 cm³, indicating good baking properties. To achieve maximum yields and high grain quality, intensive agronomy with early sowing dates, optimal seeding rate of 5.5–6.0 million germinable seeds per hectare, and planting depth of 3–5 cm followed by rolling is recommended. An important condition is conducting 2–3 seedling treatments against pests and diseases, as well as ensuring high levels of mineral nutrition.
