Description
Podolyanka is a high-yielding winter wheat variety of intensive type, distinguished by high adaptability and resistance to adverse conditions. Average yield ranges from 53 to 65 c/ha, and the variety demonstrates stable yield even on medium and poor agrofonds, as well as under varying levels of mineral nutrition. Podolyanka is characterized by high tillering and medium-early maturity, making it versatile and low-maintenance in cultivation.
The variety exhibits high resistance to winter conditions, drought, lodging, and diseases such as powdery mildew, brown leaf rust, and root rot. Thanks to its excellent ecological plasticity, Podolyanka tolerates spring frosts and shows tolerance to various preceding crops. Additionally, the variety effectively suppresses weeds, reducing the need for intensive agronomy.
The quality of Podolyanka’s grain is high: protein content ranges from 13.5 to 14.7%, raw gluten content from 28.7 to 31.5%, and dough strength reaches 320–410 a.e. The loaf volume from 100 g of flour is 1100–1210 ml, confirming excellent baking properties with a rating of 4.2 to 5.0 points. The recommended sowing period is from September 15 to 20, at a seeding rate of 180–250 kg/ha. All these characteristics make Podolyanka an attractive choice for achieving high and stable yields under various soil-climatic conditions.
