Description
PREMERA is a soft winter wheat variety created by interspecific hybridization using the Vassa and Odessa Blyagodarka varieties. It belongs to the Lutescens group and is characterized by a mid-early maturity period with a vegetative period ranging from 207 to 239 days. The plants are of medium height (75-93 cm), with a semi-erect bush and a cylindrical, white head of medium length and looseness. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 41 to 53.6 g, and the grain is colored. The variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and drought, medium winter hardiness, and frost resistance above average. The waxy coating on the head and the sheath of the flag leaf is expressed moderately-strongly, which contributes to plant protection. PREMERA demonstrates stable and high yields, reaching up to 10.73 t/ha in competitive and agronomic trials, with a grain productivity potential of over 11 t/ha. The average yield in recommended regions is about 61.2 c/ha. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, including Rostov Oblast, Stavropol Krai, and the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, as well as for study in the Lower Volga and Central Black Earth regions. The optimal seeding rate is 4.5-5.5 million viable seeds per hectare, taking into account high and medium agro-backgrounds. PREMERA wheat is distinguished by good milling and baking qualities, making it in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products. The variety is resistant to major diseases such as brown and yellow rust, which ensures crop reliability under various climatic conditions. Thanks to its characteristics, PREMERA is a promising choice for agricultural producers seeking to obtain high-quality grain with good yield and resistance to adverse factors.
