Description
Soft winter wheat of the ROSSYP variety is a medium-early, dwarf variety with high lodging resistance. The plants are 68 to 86 cm tall, have a semi-erect stem, and cylindrical ears of medium length and density with white color. The 1000-grain weight is from 36 to 44 grams, and the vegetative period lasts from 214 to 289 days. The variety ripens at times close to the standard Grom and a little later than medium-early varieties Yermak and Don 107. ROSSYP is distinguished by high winter hardiness, which exceeds the indicators of the Grom variety, as well as drought resistance at the level of standards. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasian and Lower Volga regions, including the Central zone of the Krasnodar Krai, the North-Eastern and Southern zones of the Rostov Region, the Chechen Republic, and the Right-bank zone of the Volgograd Region. It prefers light chestnut and brown soils. ROSSYP is intended for cultivation on a high agro-foundation and is not recommended to be planted after grain corn. In the Rostov Region, the variety is recommended for cultivation on black fallow. ROSSYP wheat has high resistance to diseases, including brown and yellow rust, as well as powdery mildew. Moderately susceptible to septoria, fusarium of the ear and grain, but susceptible to solid head smut. The variety has excellent bread-making qualities and is used for the production of high-quality flour and bread. The yield of the variety varies depending on the region: average yield is 51.1 c/ha in the North Caucasian region and 27.4 c/ha in the Lower Volga, while the maximum yield reached 89.6 c/ha in the Krasnodar Krai.
