The Svitoh soft winter wheat variety, developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine, exemplifies intensive crop development. With a vegetation period of 300–310 days, the plant efficiently utilizes early spring moisture, creating a strong foundation for yields reaching 8–9 tons per hectare.

Stem Engineering and Lodging Resistance

The technical advantage of this variety lies in its optimal combination of dwarfism (60–70 cm height) and lodging resistance. This stem design allows agronomists to intensify nitrogen fertilization programs without the risk of crop lodging. The short, robust straw directs the plant's metabolic energy toward ear formation and grain filling rather than excessive vegetative growth.
