Vatagok

Winter wheat Vatagok — a medium-early variety belonging to the group of strong wheat varieties, developed taking into account the specific characteristics of Ukraine's natural zones. This variety is distinguished by high frost resistance, drought tolerance, and disease resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. Plants are semi-dwarf, reaching a height of 82–95 cm, and are guaranteed not to lodge or shatter, which helps preserve yield.

Vatagok is characterized by high yield — on average 6.1 t/ha in steppe zones and 6.7 t/ha in forest-steppe zones, with a guaranteed yield increase of 0.4–0.5 t/ha. The vegetation period is 267–277 days. Grain contains 13.4–14.4% protein and 28.4–30.1% gluten, ensuring good baking and milling qualities. Flour strength reaches 361–366 standard units, and bread volume from 100 g of flour is 1170 ml.

The variety is recommended for cultivation using both intensive and conventional technologies, including irrigation. It responds well to nitrogen fertilizers, which increases yield and improves the technological quality of grain. Vatagok has moderate sensitivity to sowing dates and demonstrates stability under field conditions, making it versatile and profitable for farmers.
