Technical Profile and Genetic Potential

"Vetluzhanka" is a spring soft wheat variety developed with a focus on high performance in challenging continental climates. The engineering priority in the breeding process was the optimization of the growing cycle: an 80–90 day maturation period allows the crop to bypass peak summer drought conditions and effectively utilize soil moisture during the early vegetative stages.

Phytopathological Resistance as a Yield Foundation

The core technological advantage of this variety is its complex resistance to a broad range of pathogens. In intensive farming, crop stability is ensured by natural resistance to:

• Mycosphaerella leaf spot;
• Brown spot and stem smut;
• Powdery mildew;
• Plant rust.

Particular attention was paid to resistance against root rots, which allows "Vetluzhanka" to maintain canopy density even in non-optimal crop rotation scenarios. High tolerance to foliar infections reduces the reliance on heavy fungicide applications, which is a critical factor for operational cost-efficiency.

Grain Morphology and Productivity

With a potential yield of 8–9 tons per hectare, the variety demonstrates consistent grain filling. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 35 to 40 grams, providing high-quality grain suitable for milling. The variety exhibits medium lodging resistance, which requires a precise nitrogen application strategy to manage vegetative growth without compromising straw strength.
