Description
Zagraya Odeska — a high-yield winter soft wheat variety, recommended for planting in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, as well as in the middle belt and southern regions. This versatile variety is characterized by high yield and adaptability to various agro-climates, enabling stable and high-quality harvests when grown under advanced agronomic practices. Plant height ranges from 92 to 101 cm, contributing to good resistance to lodging.
The variety exhibits high resistance to multiple stress factors and diseases, including frost, drought, brown rust, and powdery mildew. Due to these traits, Zagraya Odeska demonstrates reliability and stability under diverse climatic conditions. The ears are large and spike-like, with red-colored, elongated grains, positively affecting the quality and commercial characteristics of the harvest.
The grain quality of this variety is high: protein content ranges from 13.3% to 14.6%, and the thousand-grain weight is 43–46 g. The baking properties of the grain provide a good balance of gluten and elasticity, making it highly sought after for bakery products. The recommended seeding rate is 4.5–5.5 million germinating seeds per hectare, promoting optimal plant development and maximum productivity.
