Description
Black currant variety Kudmig is a medium-sized bush with a slightly spreading shape, reaching a height of up to 150 cm. The shoots are thick, straight, grayish in color, matte, and not fuzzy. This variety was developed at the Federal Research Center of Planting Material (FNC PM) named after V. R. Williams and approved for use in 2019, confirming its modernity and adaptability to the conditions of the Central Belt.
Kudmig berries are large, round, black, with a thin skin and an average weight of about 2.8 grams. They have a sweet taste with a refreshing delicate aroma, making them versatile for various applications, including fresh consumption and processing. The berries contain about 8% sugar, 1.9% acidity, and a significant amount of vitamin C — 172 mg per 100 grams, highlighting their high nutritional value.
The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 69 centners per hectare in industrial plantings. Kudmig has good winter hardiness, drought resistance, as well as a standard level of resistance to diseases and pests. These qualities make it a reliable choice for growing in central regions and the Central Belt, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
