Description
Sasha radish is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety that reaches technical maturity in 35–45 days after germination. The root has a round or oval-round profile, with a diameter of 5–9 cm and a mass ranging from 200–400 g (in some cases up to 100 g). It typically remains half-buried in the soil, which facilitates harvesting and preserves freshness.
The root flesh is white, juicy, dense, and crunchy. The skin is thin and smooth with a soft tip; under sharp fluctuations in humidity and temperature, the lower part of the fruit may slightly thicken, acquiring a pear shape. The taste is mild and slightly spicy, making it a versatile ingredient both fresh and after storage.
The variety is easy to cultivate: suitable for winter sowing, adapts well to light soil, and requires no special care. Yield is 1.5–3.5 kg/m². Sasha radishes retain their taste qualities during long-term storage (up to two months) and are easy to transport. In folk medicine, they are used as a cholagogue, stimulating digestive system activity.
