A dual-action formula for intensive weed control in sunflower fields.
Description
Technical Profile of «Imperial» Herbicide
«Imperial» by «Rangoli» is a dual-component systemic herbicide engineered for the protection of sunflower crops (specifically hybrids resistant to imidazolinones). The technical strength of this product lies in the synergy between two active ingredients: imazamox and imazapyr.
Chemical Architecture and Control Mechanism
The product's efficacy is based on the combined action of the imidazolinone group:
- Imazamox is absorbed rapidly through the foliage, blocking the synthesis of essential amino acids and triggering an immediate halt to weed growth.
- Imazapyr provides a residual soil effect, acting as a barrier to prevent the germination of subsequent flushes of weeds.
This combination allows for robust control over a wide spectrum of broadleaf and grass weeds, including difficult species such as common ragweed, common lamb's quarters, field bindweed, redroot pigweed, field mustard, shepherd's purse, cleavers, and field sow thistle.
Application Standards and Efficiency
Formulated as a water-soluble concentrate (WSC), the product offers excellent compatibility with spray solutions and ensures uniform coverage of the leaf surface. As a post-emergence herbicide, «Imperial» is applied directly to actively growing weeds. The application rate ranges from 1.0 to 2.0 L/ha, allowing growers to calibrate the intensity based on the weed pressure of the field.
«Imperial» is a selective systemic herbicide with a Toxicity Class 3 rating. Peak efficiency is achieved through a single application when sunflowers are in the 2–4 true leaf stage. Its selectivity ensures the crop remains unaffected while the metabolic processes of sensitive weeds are completely inhibited.

Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |
