Description
ANNUSHKA is a variety of spring durum wheat, developed at the South-East Agriculture Research Institute. It belongs to the leucreum variety and is characterized by a white, glabrous, cylindrical ear of medium size, about 6 cm in length, with a density of 26-27 spikelets per 10 cm of the ear axis. The grain is white, large, of semi-elongated shape with a short awn and a shallow furrow. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 43 grams. The ear is pyramidal, of medium density, with sharp keel teeth and coarse white awns.
The variety is mid-season, possesses high drought resistance and plasticity, which allows it to develop stably and yield high yields under various climatic conditions. ANNUSHKA is resistant to lodging and brown rust, although it is susceptible to some other diseases. The yield potential exceeds 30 c/ha, while under regional conditions the average yield is about 10.6 c/ha. In terms of yield, the variety outperforms Saratov Golden by 3-4 c/ha, which provides an additional economic effect without additional costs.
ANNUSHKA is distinguished by high grain quality, confirmed by an SDS sedimentation index of 51 ml and a farinograph rating of 9 points, which is higher than that of Saratov Golden. Carotenoid content in the grain is at the level of the best standards. Due to these qualities, the variety is widely used for flour and high-quality bread production, and also has good pasta properties. It is recommended for cultivation in the Saratov region and is capable of occupying production areas both on the right and left banks of the region.
