Description
AVIADA is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of the lutescens subspecies, characterized by medium maturity with a vegetation period ranging from 81 to 99 days. The plant is of medium height with a semi-erect bush and stem covered with a waxy coating, which is particularly pronounced on the upper internode and the sheath of the flag leaf. The ear is pyramidal or spindle-shaped, of medium density, white in color, with short awn-like appendages and a slightly curved tooth. The grain is oval, colored, with a long awn; the mass of 1000 grains varies from 34 to 41 grams.
The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Ural, West-Siberian, Volga-Vyatsk, and Middle-Volga regions, as well as the Nizhny Novgorod and Ulyanovsk regions, and the Northern and Southern forest-steppe of the lowlands of the Tyumen region. AVIADA yield is stable and high: in the Volga-Vyatsk region, the average indicator reaches 36.8 c/ha, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the addition to the standard is 2.2 c/ha, and in the Tyumen region, the yield fluctuates from 23 to 58 c/ha, with a maximum value of 58 c/ha recorded in 2001. In the Middle-Volga region, the maximum yield reached 57.6 c/ha.
The variety is resistant to lodging and has good baking qualities, serving as a good filler. However, it is moderately susceptible to powdery bunt and susceptible to hard bunt and root rots. It is highly susceptible to brown rust, powdery mildew, and septoria. It ripens simultaneously with the Lada variety and a little later than Tulunskaya 12, which allows for its use in various agrotechnical conditions. AVIADA represents a reliable choice for farmers focused on obtaining a stable yield of quality spring wheat.
